Renowned Restaurant Opens in Edgeware: The Star 5/12/2008

Delicious authentic Indian cusine has now arrived in Edgeware, central Christchurch, with the arrival of Corianders Indian Ethnic Restaurant.

World famous in Rolleston, Corianders has now opened for dine in or takeaway meals seven days a week in Edgeware on the Sherbourne St/Edgeware Rd intersection.

Fully licensed and BYO wine, Corianders Indian Restaurant held an opening night for up to 100 suppliers and builders last Friday – a thank-you for helping advertise and establish them in Edgeware after two years of serving up the best in Indian foods in Rolleston.

Renowned throughout the Selwyn District for providing the best in authentic, fresh Indian starters, mains, side dishes and breads, Corianders Indian received a nomination for the 2008 Selwyn Awards under the business category for operating a sucessful popular resturant in Rolleston Square.

Now their team of passionate chefs are open to serve central Christchurch from the newly decorated, revamped 40-seater restaurant in Sherbourne St. Open from 5pm till late, Corianders offers a wide range of delicious mains, including its sought-after Butter Chicken dish, cooked in tandoor and finished with tomato and fenugreek cream butter sauce.

Along with all your favourites such as Rogan Josh, Tikka Masala and Lamb Madras, Corianders also offers popular signature dishes, such as Lamb Posht (lamb sauteed in onions, garlic, ginger, coriander and tomato with roast poppy seeds and spices) and Chicken Do Payaza (tender chicken roasted in spicy onion tomato masala topped with ginger, garlic, fresh coriander and spices).

Seafood specialities are also bound to tempt, especially Fish Curry, the Goa Fish Malabari and a range of prawn dishes, such as Prawn Jalfrezee and Prawn Saagwala.

Vegetarian dishes like Daal Makhni, Kadai Paneer and Mushroom Masala are mouthwatering alternatives to meat, while side dishes of mint chutney, raita and poppadams will please even the most discerning customer.

Open Monday to Friday from 11.30am to 2pm for lunch and seven days from 5pm for dinner, Corianders offer a permanent 10% discount on takeaway pick-ups.

A delivery service is expected to operate soon, but in the meantime, avoid disappointment and book early for December by phoning 366 7223.
